Whenever possible (and reasonable) Suzy Size travels by train. Since her train from Moscow to St. Petersburg had arrived at the Moscow train station, she figured the train to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, one of the three Baltic states, would naturally leave from the Baltic train station. To get there your brave heroine took an underground train which is a horrific affair in St. Petersburg since that metro is deep, deep down in the ground: Standing on top of the electric escalator one cannot see the final destination far away in the dark down there somewhere. Suzy, who tends to panic in such moments, seized that moving black rubber handle with both her hands and leaned far back, almost sat down on those moving stairs. Only in Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea, Suzy remembered, is the metro deeper down in the ground since it is also designed as a gigantic bunker, no surprise in a country permanently at war.

Arriving at the Baltic train station of St. Petersburg, Suzy had to endure that same horrible ride to upper grounds, going up incredibly steep. This time your frightened heroine leaned extremely forward (and partly closed her eyes) in order to get through that ordeal and reach the Baltic train station. But then up there at the ticket desk – after that moments on the brink of panic - they would not sell a train ticket from St. Petersburg to Tallinn to your heroine. Not because of her notorious reputation, but there are simply no trains going that way. Remember the Soviet Union? That was a very centralized state and still today there are trains from Moscow to Tallinn (and vice versa) and trains from Moscow to Riga, but not from St. Petersburg to Tallinn or from Tallinn to Riga. At the train station – no English spoken of course – they pointed to another building where eurolines (a bus company) has its office and they would sell a bus ticket to your heroine after she showed her passport. The ride of almost six hours was only about 40 US $.

Early next morning Suzy Size – this time after a taxi ride to the Baltic station – had a Capuccino near that bus station and watched a destitute woman looking through the garbage bins. She found some empty cans, a used plastic cup and a dry rose which she took with great tenderness out of the garbage and held it like a special trophy in front of her. There was a certain beauty and grace in her visible joy of having found something special – completely worthless for everybody else. Suzy boarded her bus, had a friendly middle aged Russian woman as neighbor who offered her coffee and sandwiches with a dubious reddish sausage frequently, but Suzy declined all those nice Russian offers in English. She was so glad to leave Russia which does not seem to be her cup of coffee at all.

Tallinn is a very beautiful harbor city with a well preserved old town, Suzy loved it instantly. She philandered for hours through the historic part, enjoying the fair, not too hot summer weather. And she soon found the first gay bar, the rainbow flag very obviously hanging outside, called Angel, right in the old part of town. Suzy had not been at Angel long when she got into a conversation with another gay sex tourist. His name was Gord, a 48 years old Canadian, teacher and gay sports activist, who just had come from some gay international meeting in Copenhagen which he had attended as a delegate of his country. Then they were joined by Harold, a 69 years old American, who ordered cheese for the three of them. Gord obviously liked to older one, a ship captain as it turned out whereas Suzy fancied the younger one, a sexy blond guy with luscious lips and an incredible ass. Both were quite drunk but invited themselves to another (rather expensive) beer at Gpunkt. They were funny, but not really trustworthy – the younger one never answered what he was doing for a living, just ignored that question - and after their beer went on to the gay sauna for further drinking.
